| The Priory |

The
Priory Residential Care Home is
a spacious Grade II listed Queen Anne
house, which has been extended and enlarged
over the years. It has been formerly used
as The King's School for Boys, as the
local Magistrates' Court and as the Ottery
Police Station! There are rooms on the
ground, first floor and top (attic) floor |
| |
| Accommodation
Accommodation comprises 21 single rooms,
and all have wash-hand basins fitted and
each has a TV point.
All our rooms are freshly decorated and
refurbished before a new Resident arrives and all rooms are specially adapted
as necessary for their needs.

| Facilities |
|
A Call
Bell system covers every room and all
areas of the house so that wherever you
are help is at hand by simply pulling
a cord or pressing a button.
There is a lift to all floors, and at
the rear of the house there is a patio
garden and ample parking places for visitors
and friends.
There
is a large lounge with a TV, and a small
courtyard to sit out and take the fresh
air. There is a Dining Room, but Residents
can have all their meals in their own room
if they prefer. |
| Centrally Heated Throughout |
|
| |
. |
|
The
Priory is centrally heated throughout. The
elderly especially feel the cold and we
therefore take great care to maintain a
comfortable cosy temperature all year round.
Our
aim is to make The Priory a 'Home from home',
so we encourage our Residents to bring their
own personal belongings such as photographs
and pictures, ornaments and family mementoes
and any treasured furniture that we can
accommodate |
|
| |
| Visiting |
|
| |
Residents can have visitors at any time - there
are no restrictions. Visitors are provided
with coffee or tea and cakes which can be
taken privately in the Resident's room or
in the Lounge with the other Residents.
Visitors are welcome to join the Residents
for meals at any time. |
|
|
|
| |
| Friendly Atmosphere |
|
| |
We hope
that friendships will develop amongst
our Residents and that they will enjoy
being part of a small community of like-minded
souls, but Residents are not forced to
join in anything if they prefer not to
- everyone is free to spend each day as
they wish.
