Residential Care Home Ottery St Mary

Margaret Halls-Falconer who also has a degree in Hospitality Management and brings together an excellent team of bright and happy carers, caterers and associated professionals. We are all here to care, this is about care in the home and for us that is about care a team.

Friendly Atmosphere

Our philosophy is to provide a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where each Resident has the freedom to spend their day as they wish. Our Care Staff are trained to cater for all the elderly frailties in a sympathetic and patient way. We recognise and understand that the elderly have their own special likes and dislikes and we aim to meet all these every day.

Admission & Welcome

Moving home is always a disturbing time especially for the elderly, and we take especial care for that reason.

We find that new Residents normally settle in to life at The Priory within the first few weeks but during this settling-in period they are entirely free to reconsider whether they wish to continue, without any further obligation or commitment.

At The Priory we pay particular attention to our Residents’ health by maintaining close contact with the local Coleridge Medical Centre, the District Nurses, the chiropodist and other visiting health professionals.

In addition, we give great emphasis to good fresh food sourced from our local butchers and vegetable suppliers. All meals are prepared daily in our own kitchens – we avoid any pre-prepared meals of any kind. Additives not only affect children but can affect the elderly – so our policy is avoidance!

No Smoking

By general consent of our Residents, The Priory is a non-smoking home.

Personal Items

Our aim is to make The Priory a 'Home from home', so we encourage our Residents to bring their own personal belongings such as photographs and pictures, ornaments and family mementoes and any treasured furniture that we can accommodate.
